Ogun State continues to strengthen its position as a prime destination for investors, according to the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.

The Governor made the announcement during the opening ceremony of the 15th Gateway International Trade Fair at the M.K.O Abiola Trade Fair Complex, Laderin, Abeokuta.

He attributed the state's growing appeal to the reforms and policies implemented by his administration, which are already showing positive results.

Governor Abiodun emphasized his government's unwavering commitment to improving the business environment in the State, underscoring the theme of this year's Trade Fair: "Promoting Businesses Through Partnerships."

He encouraged participants to take full advantage of the Commerce platform to network and establish meaningful partnerships that would foster business growth and contribute to the prosperity of the state.

Represented by the Commissioner for Industry, Trade, and Investment, Mr. Adebola Sofela, the Governor highlighted that the Trade Fair has long served as a vital platform for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to showcase their products, build connections, and expand their reach.

He reiterated that the state government remains committed to ensuring that businesses continue to thrive.

"Ogun State has been deliberate in providing the necessary infrastructure and implementing policies to create an environment conducive to business growth," Governor Abiodun stated.

"Whether small or large, we are focused on supporting businesses. The investments coming into the state, with many more in the pipeline, reflect the success of our efforts."

The Governor also praised the Ogun State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (OGUNCCIMA) for its consistent professionalism and support in promoting the Trade Fair.

He assured continued government backing for such initiatives that benefit both businesses and the state as a whole.

In his welcome address, the President of OGUNCCIMA, Lion Niyi Osiyemi, commended the state government for creating a favorable business environment that has supported the successful organization of six consecutive Trade Fair editions over the past six years.

He also appealed to the government to assist in the construction of a permanent pavilion for the Chamber.

Osiyemi urged participants to make the most of the Trade Fair platform to expand their networks and forge valuable business partnerships.

The National President of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Engr. (Dr.) Jani Ibrahim, represented by Asiwaju (Dr.) Michael Cole, praised Governor Abiodun for his administration's business-friendly policies, which have made Ogun State a preferred investment destination.

In her goodwill message, Dame Adesola Adebutu lauded the state government for maintaining the Trade Fair over the years.

She stressed the importance of ensuring that a commerce-friendly Governor is elected and called for more support for traders and business owners to join chambers of commerce, as is practiced in countries like China.

Exhibitors at the fair, including Mr. Razak Adeyemi and Mr. Matthew Adebayo, expressed their satisfaction with the event's turnout, commending both OGUNCCIMA and the state government for their efforts in organizing this year’s edition.

The annual Trade Fair, organized by OGUNCCIMA in collaboration with the Ogun State government, continues to be an important event for fostering business growth and expanding trade opportunities in the state.
