Ogun Christian Pilgrims Complete Pilgrimage, Arrive Nigeria

Christian Pilgrims back from Holy Pilgrimage

Christian Pilgrims from Ogun State are back from their Holy Pilgrimage to the Hashemite kingdom of Jordan and the Holy Land of Israel.

Following their successful completion of the pilgrimage, the Pilgrims touched down at Muritala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, to join their elated families who came to receive them at the airport.

The Southwind Aircraft which conveyed the Pilgrims left Queen Alia International Airport in Jordan early Tuesday morning and arrived at exactly 5.27pm, today, after over seven hours in the air.

Cross section of the newly conferred Jerusalem Pilgrims (JPs), who were elated, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the State government for the arrangement which ensured a very smooth operation, praying that the government would continue to see the hand of God in its programmes and policies.

Speaking after the exercise, Executive Secretary, Ogun State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mr. Ibiyemi Oduyemi, gave all glory to God for a successful pilgrimage, saying the result was a testament of government support and commitment towards ensuring all-round development of the State and its people.

According to him, the State did not record any casualty nor abscondment as all the various support service teams were on top of their game during the exercise, enjoining the Pilgrims to continue to be good ambassadors of the State and expect accelerated answers to all prayers and supplications made in the holy land.

During the pilgrimage, special prayers were offered for the State, the government and its people.

The Pilgrims had earlier been conferred with the Jerusalem Pilgrim title and presented their certificates at an event in Jerusalem.

Recall that the Pilgrims left Nigeria on Saturday 31st January for the spiritual exercise.
