Chairman of Ogun State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Apostle Biodun Sanyaolu, has reiterated the agency's commitment to fulfilling the government's education policy objectives.
He made this statement in Abeokuta while addressing concerned secondary school teachers from Abeokuta South in Ẹ̀gbá Division, who appeared before the Redistribution and Review Panel, set up to address issues arising from the recent redistribution exercise by the agency.
Apostle Sanyaolu, represented by the Full Time Commissioner in TESCOM and Chairman of the Panel, Hon. Adeola Akintande, explained that the Panel aimed to identify and address plight of teachers with medical or genuine issues, ensuring fair posting and balanced placement of subject teachers in secondary schools.
"TESCOM is committed to achieving standard education through fair posting that reflects teacher-student ratios and balanced placement of required subject teachers in our secondary schools," Sanyaolu stated.
He urged teachers to see the redistribution as a move to enhance teaching and learning for the benefit of the State and the learners, saying, "This Panel is not meant to intimidate or scare our teachers, but to listen to those with medical or genuine issues for consideration."
He noted that the Panel's recommendation would be forwarded to the appropriate authority for final decision, enjoining the appellants to report to their assigned schools pending the outcome of the Panel.
Speaking in an interview, a member of the Panel and Principal-General of Yewa Division, Mr. Taoheed Bankole said due process were followed in addressing concerned issues before the Panel, assuring the appellants of proper justice.
In their responses, two of the appellants, Mr. Kazeem Moyinola and Mrs. Olubunmi Adekoya appreciated TESCOM for giving them the opportunity to hear their plight, saying that they would continue to be diligent in their duty posts.
The panel commenced its sitting on Tuesday, 27 January and would end Friday 6, 2026 at the Headquaters of the Teaching Service Commission, Block A, State Secretariat, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
