Police restore stolen and abandoned vehicle to owner

The owner of the vehicle flanked by DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the Police Public Relations Officer for Ogun State Command and another Police officer. 

A vehicle, previously declared to have been stolen and abandoned by armed robbers has now been handed over to its rightful owner in Abeokuta. 

The vehicle, a silver-coloured Toyota RAV4 Jeep was recently handed over to its owner by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Obantoko Division of the Ogun State Police Command after verification of relevant documents.

In a release by DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the Police Public Relations Officer for Ogun State Command, the police recovered the vehicle yesterday at the Somorin Area of Obantoko.

The Obantoko Division Surveillance Team discovered the stolen and abandoned vehicle during a routine patrol and it was immediately secured at the station while information was disseminated to the public to identify the owner.

The owner was later confirmed after police interrogation and verification of documents and the vehicle, along with its keys and documents, was formally handed back to its owner.

According to DSP Babaseyi, the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Lanre Ogunlowo has commended the Obantoko Division Surveillance Team for their professionalism and swift action, urging all officers to sustain high standards of vigilance and community policing in safeguarding lives and property.
