MFM S/W Region 3 Ilorin Holds Lord Feast For 2000 Prisoners
In fulfilling one of the major assignments given to the body of Christ all over the world to "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations spreading the good news so that the whole world can be Freed", the
Evangelism Group of the Mountain of Fire And Miracles Ministries South West Region 3, Ilorin has extended the hands of fellowship to the inmates of Kwara State Correctional Centers with the Lord Feast by providing them pounded yam and egusi soup to celebrate the season.
Extending the love of Christ beyond church environment is an annual practice in the church since two decades ago with the numbers of inmates increasing annually.
Feeding the inmates with pounded yam and egusi soup came over 20 years ago through the initiative of Mrs Grace Edide while Dr Mrs Modupe Ogunniyi, Mrs Comfort Raji, Dr Yemisi Adejumo, Dr Femi Ajayi, Dr Sanni and Mrs Dada key into the idea using their personal resources.
The benevolent act of sharing Lord Feast with inmates at Oke-Kura, Mardala, Omuaran, Lafiaji and Jebba Correctional Centers in Kwara State on December 26th of every year with their personal resources has produced Pastors, Evangelists and ministers of God in many churches having met Christ while in the correctional centers.
This humanitarian attitude has gone beyond what the personal resources of the evangelism group could afford since the number to be catered for this year is about 2000 inmates which was brought to the notice of the Mega Regional Overseer, a like minded person who financially supported the initiative.
The Mega Regional Overseer Pastor Olugbenga Oyewunmi described the humanitarian gesture as a welcome initiative which should be embraced and supported because it's in line with the teaching of Jesus in Matthew 25: 36-40" And the king shall answer and say unto them verily, I say unto you in as much as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me"
According to Dr Mrs Modupe Ogunniyi, the evangelism group of Mountain of Fire And Miracles Ministries South West Region 3 Ilorin visits the female correctional center last Thursday of the month and male correctional centers last Saturday of the month.
Another member of the group, Mrs Grace Edide said, the group occasionally facilitate training programme on skills acquisition which could be useful for them after serving their jail term, provision of soap, detergents and other needed materials for their skins
Mama Comfort Raji a member of the group call on the parents and other stake holders in child training to create time for the younger ones and train them according to divine blue print not according to the system of the world because Proverbs 22: 6 " Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it."
"If children are trained in the way of the Lord, there will be reduction in crime rate and our society shall witness turn around transformation", she said.
