Former Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari has claimed ignorance of the nature of sickness that plagued him while in office saying only his daughter knows it.
In an interview with the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) which was posted on the television's X official handle (formerly called Twitter) recently, the former president said only his daughter could accurately describe his illness.
Recall that while the former president was in office, between 2015 and 2021, he spent 171 days on medical vacation in search of cure in the United Kingdom for an ailment largely shrouded in secret to the general public.
His sickness was so severe then that it got every Nigerians worried as in 2017 alone, President Buhari spent 152 days away from the shore of Nigeria.
Now reacting to a question on the nature of his illness when he was president, Buhari promptly answered: “I think only my daughter can honestly answer this question.”
The former President also noted that he did not miss being president of Nigeria despite spending 8 years.
When asked about what he missed from his time in office, the former president said, “Miss? I don’t think I miss much.”
Buhari had previously said he would not miss his time in office because he was being “harassed”.
In December 2022, the former president said he was doing his best for Nigerians but it was not good enough.
Buhari said, “I believe I’m trying my best, but still my best is not good enough.
“I wonder if I am going to miss much. I think I’m being harassed.”
