The People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State is undergoing a systemic change that will not only shipshape it for the forthcoming general elections in the country but it will also make the party ready to take over the government of the state by 2023,  the PDP Chairman in the state, Hon. Sikirulai Ogundele has disclosed.

In a chat with THE STATEPOST at the party secretariat at Oke Mosan yesterday, Hon. Ogundele revealed that PDP has increased the membership of the party's Working Committee in the state from 39 to 98 in order to accommodate the varied interests within the party and make the party more pliant for 2023.

He noted that with the systemic and systematic changes going on now within the party in the state, there are no longer any disgruntled elements or group within the fold.

Hon. Ogundele explained that as a result of the tidying up of the party and its apparatus in the state, the party is now now not only all-inclusive but it also meets regularly now to get its members informed and ready to do the needful in order to take over as the ruling party after the next general elections.

The PDP chieftain who maintained that he was cocksure of his party's success in 2023 said the All Progressives Congress (APC), the ruling party in the state has made the success of his party inevitable by its clueless and insensitive government.

"We are just waiting now for 2023 which is just around the corner", the PDP chairman said.

He pointed out that APC has persistently failed to give good governance to Nigerians and so has failed to convince the people of its capability to go on steering the ship of the state.

Hon. Ogundele said the APC by its insensitive governance has failed not only to effect any change in the country as it promised in its campaign mantra but has also let Nigerians down in all spheres of life.

He lamented that APC has made Nigeria a failed state adding that "even if you have 200 security operatives guarding you now, you are still unsure of safety".

"Where is the safety of the common man when even governors are attacked, obas and important personalities are now abducted daily?" He asked rhetorically.

Recalling the recent abduction of three of the workers of retired President Olusegun Obasanjo, the party chieftain pointed out regretfully that such act among others are condemnable noting that they were all sordid evidences of APC's failure to continue in government.

Hon. Ogundele who noted that examples of APC's failure are too numerous to mention said it continued to baffled him that the party still has followers but quickly posited that such people cannot be patriots but madmen and bootlickers.
