Ogun to build asphalt plant soon

Ogun State Government is to establish an asphalt plant, to boost economic development and create employment for its citizenry soon.


Special Adviser to the Governor on Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Babatunde Adesina disclosed this at the Treasury Board meeting on 2021- 2023 Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and 2021 proposed budget, at Obas' Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta yesterday.


Engr. Adesina stated that the asphalt plant when established would boost the Ministry's Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) among others, adding that a test plant to evaluate the quality of materials to be used for construction purposes would also be set up.


The Special Adviser also disclosed that the capital expenditure for the Ministry totaling N40, 455,601,000 would be used for the completion of all ongoing road construction projects, bridges, and new roads, as well as rehabilitation of existing ones across the three Senatorial Districts of the State.


Responding to the Ministry's financial proposal, the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun advised that roads to be constructed by the ministry should align with the expectations of the people, as generated from the stakeholders' engagement.


According to the Governor, Infrastructural development in the State would be in line with the government inclusive governance approach for quality service delivery.
