Despite the ongoing power tussle, a do or die wrestling for the soul of Edo State, President Muhammadu Buhari has officially endorsed Osagie Ize-Iyamu for the upcoming Edo State Gubernatorial Elections.
Buhari on Friday, met with Ize-Iyamu at the Presidential Villa Abuja where the All Peoples Congress (APC) flag was handed over to Ize-Iyamu.
The flag handing over ceremony signified the official endorsement of Ize-Iyamu as the gubernatorial candidate of APC in the forthcoming election in the state.
The chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the ruling party and Governor of Yobe State, Mai Malla Buni, escorted Ize-Iyamu to the meeting.
Others at the flag handing over ceremony are the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) and Governor of Kebbi State Atiku Bagudu and the APC Campaign Council Chairman for Edo Election, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano state.
THE STATEPOST reliably gathered that while the brief ceremony lasted, no mention was made of the brouhaha playing out in Edo State House Of Assembly as President Muhammadu Buhari played dumb over the matter.
